We arrived yesterday and set up camp. MUCH warmer than it’s been for us so far, the snow is almost gone. A beautiful (I think I use that adjective too much, but it fits) location on the water. We watched the sunset and cooked dinner over our fire. I had fun walking in the marsh in the dark and shining a light on the giant (20-30 lb) South American rats (look up “nutria”) and gators, then came back to Susy and had an enjoyable evening sitting and talking by the fire.
Today, we’ll go see what else we can find.
Update: hmmm, it’s just occurred to me, we spent the last several weeks freezing in Florida, with a record snowfall, and we finally leave “the Sunshine State” and immediately see warmer weather. Coincidence??? Hmmm 🤔
