March 15…. Silver City NM

After waking up to an awesome view of the mountains out my bedroom window at Oliver Lee Memorial SP, we headed for our next spot.

The drive took us up and over a mountain pass through the San Andres Mountains and into Las Cruces NM, then across to Deming and up to Silver City. We’ve not seen much of the area other than our campground, but this place is fantastic! The people are so friendly, the host met us out on the road in her golf cart and guided us to our site and she invited us to a cookout in the evening. 🍖

As we were setting up, it started snowing on us and blowing into the camper. Susanne was so tickled ❄️ 😮

This evening, we went to the cookout and met a lot of folks. The owner of the camp smokes ribs and ham every Saturday and throws in all the sides. Talked and laughed through dinner and into the evening till it started getting too cold to sit out. Before we left, Susy helped organize a game night for tomorrow night and found a bunch of like-minded people to attend. She’s been wanting to meet people and it finally happened. She says she’s not tired of me yet, but she was so excited about gaming with other people that it makes me wonder. 🤔
