The Big Five are the five destination National Parks spread across southern Utah. Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands.
We’re visiting Zion National Park this week. Beautiful!
We drove out to the northern part of Zion yesterday. Pretty drive and area, but not the canyon that Zion is known for. Today, we went through the tunnel to East Zion and then finally made it into the canyon area and walked up to Canyon Overlook for the view.

LOTS of people here. Parking is a nightmare, so tomorrow we’ll ride the shuttle bus to get around. More to come…
On a different note, the drama of the day…
Susanne’s Samsung Galaxy has been acting strangely lately. Whenever she records video, the video works, but the sound often does not start recording for 2 or 3 or sometimes up to 10 seconds into the video. Not good.
We had visited the TMobile store and they tried a few things, and said if it keeps doing it, then a factory reset is in order.
Today was the day. I did a full backup and then wiped the phone and tested. All seems well, so I restored the backup and we went about our day.
Susy had it in her pocket when she hiked up to Canyon Overlook…

As she sat down on that rock, I watched the phone drop from her pocket, bounce a time or two, and go right off the edge. Straight down 300 feet. 😖
I got a photo from down below. See the arrow showing where she was sitting when it bounced.

This afternoon we’re shopping for a new phone. 🫤
