As we talk to people about our journey and where we’ve been and what we’ve seen, the same question comes up over and over. What has been our favorite place, so far?
Well, maybe we’ve found it.
The Pacific coast, Northern California and Oregon, just grabs us both.
It has the beach. It has giant forests. It has beautiful creeks, streams, and rivers. It has mountains (what I would have called “mountains” before leaving Georgia and seeing real mountains). Pleasant daytime temperatures and cool nights. (I’d like it just a bit warmer, but Susanne thinks this is perfection)
The only thing lacking might be the hard desert we passed through several states back. If it had that nearby, the area would be absolutely perfect. But ocean, forest, and streams don’t usually occur next to deserts. Who knew. So three out of four ain’t bad.
If it weren’t for the crazy expensive costs of everything from property to fuel to food, I might want to live here. 😮
