September 11…. Big’uns

Today was horseback riding day. Susanne’s sister Laura set this up for us long in advance, so there we went.

We went to visit The Clydesdale Outpost Guest Ranch to ride Clydesdale horses!

I had seen the Budweiser wagon in a parade long, long ago, but this was my first chance to get up close and personal. Those things are massive!

Wasn’t my favorite experience, we all wanted to run wild and be free, taking the horses into the forest and up and down mountains. Instead, it was a ride around the property, admittedly a pretty place with pasture and a river, but still, it was a lot of fun just being atop such a beautiful animal. 🤠

Kinda funny, the horses all are used to walking in a line and guiding them was more in our heads than reality, so sometimes they would bunch up nose to tail, and I don’t know exactly what they eat, but all six horses were blowing some Clydesdale sized farts. Great gassy windbags. 🤢

After our ride, the three of us went back to the camper for a bit, then headed out for an afternoon hike to look for wildlife. Didn’t see any that time, but we did get some pictures at a nice waterfall.

Yes, I said “three”. We picked up a house guest. One of our friends from back home is staying with us for a few days before she heads back to Atlanta on Tuesday. If anyone would like an intro, let me know. 😁
