We’re visiting a National Monument right now, I’ll show pics and details when my blog catches up to today, but for now, I will rant.
We walked into the park yesterday, and there was a sign on the entry kiosk telling where to go online to pay your entry fee. All automated. No staff necessary.
Today, there’s a sign saying Due to Government Shutdown, entry fees will not be collected, but the gate is wide open, just come on in. The website and payment method are STILL ALIVE, I checked!
Uhhhh… if the gov’t is so hard up for money that they have to close up shop, why on earth would they stop collecting money via an AUTOMATED money collection method???
Seems a bit lacking in common sense. doesn’t it??
