January 8… Kayak time…

We went to Ichetucknee Springs State Park today. I grew up going there, at least once every summer. BEAUTIFUL blue springs and crystal clear water. Highly recommend it if you’ve never been.

Update: Susy persists in calling it Itchytouchy Springs. Cracks me up.

It’s cold in Florida this week. Every other time I’ve been to the springs, we always swam or tubed our way down the river, but this time we used our inflatable kayaks. Great idea! Coming in the winter is very different. There’s NO ONE here. The quiet trip down river was just me and Susy, on the water, dipping paddles sometimes but mostly floating. Birds and fish and MANATEES! Never seen them in the river before, they only come upstream in the winter.
