February 17…. For old time’s sake

More fun trail riding on the bikes this morning, listening to Susy cackle all the way around. Twice. 🤣

This afternoon, we drove out to The Oasis on Lake Travis. I remember coming here back in the 80’s when it was a hole in the wall place out past the middle of nowhere, overlooking Hippie Hollow, the only clothing-optional beach in central TX. Nowadays, the restaurant and bar can seat over 2500 people! It’s grown a little bit. Great Tex-Mex and OMG what a view!!

The place is perched high on a cliff overlooking Lake Travis outside Austin Tx. Multiple levels, decks, terraces, all interconnected by stairs everywhere, inside and outside seating, a gift shop of course, and statues all over the place. Be sure to look for the monkey humping the banana. 😮

The biggest draw to the place is the view of the sunset from outside on one of the many terraces.

If you ever come to Austin or even just passing thru, this is a must-see destination. Oh, and the food’s pretty darn good too. 😁
