February 21…. You can’t win every time

Sometimes it looks like the right move. On paper it looks good and online it looks good, but then reality hits and you wish you had done it differently. And no, I don’t mean retirement or this trip, those are still fantastic. 🤩

Blanco State Park in Blanco TX. Meh. Not impressed. Not going on my “return to” list. There’s nothing really wrong with it, there’s just nothing really grabbing me either. It might have a “little” more appeal in warmer weather, there’s a decent river and swimming area, but that’s really its only appeal. AND, it’s kinda out in the middle of nowhere. Blanco is a tiny town, has some interesting places, but only a few. We’ll skip this one in the future.

And in the never-ending saga of the rolling crap storm that is my camper, when we put out the kitchen slide this time, one of the mechanism cables snapped. The repair doesn’t look horribly difficult, will probably take me at least a half day to fix, but it’s just an expense and a hassle ordering parts and tools and waiting for them to arrive and then monkeying with it all. 🤬

AND two more tire pressure sensors died in the truck. The last two. The first two had already died earlier in the trip and been replaced.

AND during the night, the furnace sputtered and died as it sucked the last of the propane out of one tank and it was too cold outside for me to want to go out there and switch to the full tank.

AND when we tried to brush teeth and get ready for the day, the water pump started spitting air as it emptied the last of our fresh water tank.

Sometimes, you just can’t win. ☹️
