April 22…. Taken with a grain of salt

Did you ever KNOW that someone was telling you something incorrect, but just couldn’t get them to agree?? When I looked online at the phone company website, I found the answer, but the service rep told us something else. I argued with her over the phone but she just kept insisting she was right.

Well, when we drove all the way into St. George Utah, the folks at the store quoted us what we had already seen online. 🤬

Other than that, the lady at the store was very helpful and informative and helped us make our decision on Susy’s new phone.

For all you techies out there, in the war between Apple and Android, Susy decided on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with 512gb. Ordered it today, it arrives Thursday.

And for the “other” purpose of this blog, what did we see and do today, after phone shopping??

We went walking (remember I don’t hike) in Zion National Park. Take the shuttle all the way to the end of the line, and then took the Riverwalk trail to The Narrows.

Riverwalk was an easy 2 mile round trip, but The Narrows are the goal. As we walked the river trail, we passed more and more people coming from ahead of us, wearing waders and even full dry suits. 😮

The Narrows “trail” starts where the River trail ends. I say “trail” because there really is no trail. You just start walking up the river, stumbling over rocks, wading against the current, and constantly moving upstream. And the water is COLD! Not the bone chilling, achingly cold we had in the Colorado River, but darn chilly nonetheless.

We were sort of prepared. No dry suits, but we did bring our Crocs. 😂

I think we went maybe 300 yards, not even a quarter mile upstream, crossing the river several times, wading through rapids, moving from sand bar to sand bar before turning back. Never more than knee deep, but folks coming back talked about waist and even chest deep spots further in. Nope, not this time.

Well worth it in April, we added it to our “come back someday” list to return in the summer.
