Spent the day in Hines Oregon. Not much happening here, it’s a very tiny town kinda combined with another not quite as tiny town, Burns Oregon, to add up to a small town.
We visited an old rock shop, been there for 60 years, and Susy was able to talk rocks with the old gentleman that runs the place. He was able to take a few of Susy’s treasures and saw them in half, to reveal the insides for her. Interesting, but nothing impressive, to me at least.
Really, the only “touristy” thing around this area is The Giant Slide. I thought that was just a description, but found out that it’s actually its name, formed right into the ladder steps up to the top.

We walked down to the park and did some sliding and some swinging on the swing set, also quite large. Susanne REALLY gets into those swings, laughing and giggling like a child. I thought her face was going to split she smiled so big. 😁

As Susy was swinging, we watched a deer running along the other side of the road suddenly decide to cross, dodging a couple cars, and run right at us. It almost ran into us, then realized we were there, and veered off and kept on going back through the neighborhood.
Also, the park is covered in the most beautiful grass I’ve seen in a long time. Green and soft, we lay in the grass for a bit and just watched the clouds.

I think I’m spoiled. If I had to return to Earth and resume a “real life” I’m not sure I could do that. 😂
