And just like that, it’s over. “Real life” intrudes again.
We spent time this weekend pulling groceries and clothes and items we might need in the house out of the trailer, and then took her away to the storage yard. I miss her already, and I know she misses us.
Being back in an actual house is strange. Everything is so BIG!
I got up last night to use the bathroom and it felt like a long enough walk that I should have packed snacks and a drink for the trip.
The ceiling is oddly high, and there are too many choices for places to sit in the living room. But a big one on the plus side, I took a 30-minute shower and didn’t run out of hot water or have to run outside in my underwear to dump the tanks. 😄
Our journey was so amazing in so many ways. Being able to experience everything that we did… all the places, sights and feelings, meeting people along the way… unforgettable.
We plan on being back in our house for a good bit of 2026, working on prepping it either for sale or maybe as a VRBO or a rental. We’ll see.
But there’s no way I’ll be able to stay here for an entire year… the wanderlust is in me now. Yes, we went and saw a lot of different things this year, but there’s still a lot left. East coast. Midwest. Great Lakes. Places I’ve already been and so many more that I haven’t. Already a Caribbean cruise in the works for March.
I’ll probably drop in a blog entry once in a while this year before we start another big journey, just to keep the dust off my keyboard. Stay tuned, spread the word. The more subscribers the better, so I can get internet-famous and retire. Oh wait, I’m already retired.
So why does it feel like a Sunday night and I have to get up for work tomorrow morning?? 😲
