Susy and I were riding bikes on the beach late yesterday after dinner. The heat of the day had broken, the cars were almost gone and most of the people with them. The tide was out, so the hard sand felt limitless.
Stopping now and then to look at an interesting shell, I spotted a starfish on the sand. Susanne loves starfish, but sadly this one had gone to starfish heaven. We soon found another, and then she found the rest of the herd. Pack? Gaggle? How about we call a collection of starfish a Constellation! 😁
A half dozen of them in a small tide pool, most of those still alive.
She took some time to show them off to several children walking the beach with parents, then enlisted their help to set them free in the ocean.
As we continued our ride, Susy looks over and says “This is beautiful. Wouldn’t it be great if we could stay longer?” Well, why the heck not? Our life is flexible, right? Check the calendar, nothing next week we can’t change or cancel. Heck yea! Let’s stay another week!
So, the only remaining obstacle is a campground reservation for this Saturday on our way home, and we are already inside the cancellation deadline, we would lose our entire fee.
